Apr 2012: Organic Container Gardening Workshop Report

Started the day early enough for urbanites at Pieces, a lovely niche furniture boutique in Bukit Bintang, right at the heart of urban living and container  heaven (not in the sense that it has containers, but in the sense that it could do with more container gardens!).

We were really lucky to have been able to open the morning with the amazing Tan Siew Luang of CETDEM, talking about her many experiences over the past decades with organic farming and gardening, techniques and more.

Sabina’s turn to demonstrate the ins and outs, and ups and downs, of making a light potting mix for containers.

Participants itching to get their hands dirty with potting mix! Just waiting for the right time and instructions from Sabina…

And then, the inner workings of the self watering container!

And after a full day of container gardening theory and practicals… the happy participants with their bottle works to take home and experiment!
