We build edible gardens not just for you, but together with you. All in a day’s work.
Once we’ve created a garden design and plan for you, Eats, Shoots & Roots can help facilitate the process of building your garden beds with you through a Garden Royong. You can involve your friends, family or community who might be interested in learning how to build an edible garden, or just want to get their hands dirty and work out.
What is a Garden Royong?
Inspired by the spirit of good old fashioned Malaysian gotong-royongs and Permablitzes, a Garden Royong is a day when people get together to build a garden. The host can invite up to 20 people to join in. Throughout the day, Eats, Shoots & Roots will lead the garden build and facilitate informal workshops about the process and techniques of building edible garden beds.
At the end of the day, you and your team learn some basic gardening skills:
You get free labour to build your garden beds
You get to expedite the process of building your garden beds
You and your team have lots of natural good ol fun and a great work out
The Garden Royongs are one of our most exciting and fun events, great for children and adults alike. We’re always up to doing one of these, so get in touch with us if you’d like to host one at your space, and we can see how to make it happen.
