About this workshop
Learn the basic science behind the reproduction of plants,how they evolve, and the art of propagating plants in your very own backyard.

This workshop will cover some die hard questions:
– Understanding the lifespan of a seed
– Hybrid vs Non – Hybrid vs GMO
– Introducing under-utilized crops
– How crop plants can be bred with improved traits
– Plant genetics
– How plants evolve
– How to start propagating your own plants

This is part of our Grow Your Own Sayur In The City monthly workshop programme, which will take participants through important aspects of starting and maintaining their very own edible gardens.

About the Facilitator
Dr Aryo Feldman is a Senior Research Programme Coordinator at Crops For The Future Research Centre in Semenyih. His field of expertise is in plant physiology, with hands-on crop production experience, using the principles of permaculture, agroecology and organic production as a means of attempting to form a closed-looped system

His passion is in international agriculture and how it can contribute to relieving global hunger, poverty and environmental degradation. He has related interests in the natural resource base, the climate crisis, dietary diversification and food sovereignty.
