A half-day practical introduction to learn on how to grow food in high and small spaces with compost coach, Harbir Gill. This workshop is designed for anyone who is interested to get started in growing fresh vegetables in their balcony and on a roof.

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

The course is hands-on and will introduce you to the basic principles of composting, balcony/rooftop microclimates, planning and layout for small space gardens including setting up trellis, soil preparation, smart watering system.

You will bring back your own ready to grow pot, mini wicking system, seeds and plants.

• Basic principles of composting (Demo of 7 pot composting system)
• How to make your own healthy soil
• Building a wicking bed
• Practical introduction to home gardening and soil nutrition and plant considerations
• Vertical growing methods
